10 Things You Need to Be Doing in Lightroom

10 lessons with Scott Kelby · Lens fixes, hidden tools, smarter organization, and Lightroom on your phone

The fixes are already in Lightroom.

Scott shows you where they’ve been hiding.

After years of looking over photographers’ shoulders at his workshops around the world, Scott Kelby kept seeing the same missed fixes, the same organizing habits that bury photos, and the same powerful features going untouched. In 10 Things You Need to Be Doing in Lightroom, he gathers the ten that make the biggest difference — one-click lens fixes, masking tools Adobe added quietly, when to hand a cleanup to Photoshop, an organization system built on collections, and Lightroom on your phone without filling it up. Nothing to buy, nothing to relearn — just ten changes that pay you back every time you open Lightroom.

What You'll Learn

✓

Fix lens problems in one click

Leaning buildings and wide-angle bulge, fixed in seconds with Upright’s Auto button and the Distortion slider.

✓

Use the masking tools Adobe quietly added

Select Landscape now finds water, architecture, and vegetation for you — and it works on any photo, not just landscapes.

✓

Know when to hand it to Photoshop

When the Remove tool takes out the rope and the headlights with it: the Command-E round trip, Prompt to Edit, and Find Distractions.

✓

Organize so you can find anything

One collection per trip, then Picks, then Selects; descriptive names instead of dates; collections instead of folders.

✓

Take Lightroom with you

Sync only the collections you choose to your phone as tiny Smart Previews, edit with the same tools, and let every edit sync back.

...across all 10 lessons, from the first one-click lens fix to Lightroom on your phone.

Why This Course Matters

Most photographers learned Lightroom once and settled in — while Adobe kept adding smarter tools.

That gap costs you every day: extra steps on every edit, photos you can’t find, and work done by hand that Lightroom would do for you. These tips weren’t pulled from a feature list — Scott collected them standing beside photographers at his workshops, watching where they got stuck and which single change made them faster. Close the gap and you’ll edit quicker, find anything in seconds, and trust the tools you’ve been working around. Less time in Lightroom, more time shooting.
