Uprise Art. Studio Stories: Lucía Rodriguez Pérez.

Brooklyn-based painter Lucía Rodríguez Pérez talks color as language, beauty laced with unease, and how her fenced-in Chilean childhood shaped the dreamlike worlds she paints today. Go inside her studio in our latest installment of Studio Stories.

“ I hope my work can convey a sense of silence, the importance to stop, to listen, to also listen to yourself, you know, to not be so eager to maybe say something to somebody else, but to explore what it is that you are thinking that you're feeling?” Lucía Rodriguez Pérez.

Lucía paints dreamlike spaces where organic elements, architectural features, and rich colors bend the distinction between the believable and the unrealistic.
