Hey there,

Most people who decide to build a course get stuck on the size of it. How many modules? How long should each video be? Is this enough to charge for? With no answer to any of it, the outline keeps growing, because bigger feels safer.

So here's the answer, plainly. Pick one specific result you can get a buyer to without sitting next to them. Then build the smallest course that delivers it:

5 to 8 core modules
1 to 3 videos per module
10 to 30 minutes per video
An action step closing every module
One named result at the end

That's the whole spec. Then go and record it with the camera you already own.

The reason most people don't do this is that the alternative feels more responsible. Script every lesson. Buy the $1,400 camera. Re-record module one because your energy felt off on Tuesday. Eight months later, you've got 74 lessons and a launch list of 212 people.

Polish is procrastination wearing a productivity costume. Editing lesson 41 feels like work, and it postpones the part that actually scares you: asking a human being for money.

Smaller build doesn’t mean smaller ambition. The 74 lessons were never the bold part.

We put together a guide that has the rest: what your course should promise, where production quality actually ranks, and the honest pricing bands. Check it out.

One more number before you go. Expect the build to be about 20% of your time. Marketing the product is the other 80%.
