Build the on-ramp before you build the offer.

Hey there,

Nobody teaches therapists how to write progress notes. And the stakes aren't small: if the documentation doesn't demonstrate medical necessity, reimbursement gets denied and legal exposure goes up.

Maelisa McCaffrey is a psychologist who noticed that gap in 2014. She describes her own subject matter as "a really boring topic, but a really overwhelming and stressful topic" for clinicians.

Boring won. QA Prep has generated over $1M across twelve years, with more than $500K of that on Kajabi since she moved in 2023. She runs the whole thing with one VA.

Here's the part worth stealing: she built the free course before she built anything paid. Then she landed a guest post on a blog that already had her audience, and timed the two to go live together.

300 sign-ups on day one. That list has nearly 39,000 people on it now.

Then she kept listening. Nobody ever asked her for a community.

They asked how to write a progress note. But they stayed because they met other clinicians in the same boat, and the business reshaped itself around that.

If you've been waiting for a more interesting niche, read this one first.
