Pushing Limits At The 2026 Hardrock 100 With Greg Sisengrath @ultraninjarunnr

TEAM MNTN TSTD athlete Greg Sissengrath realized his dream of lining up at the Hardrock 100, putting his favorite Path Projects gear to the test across the rugged San Juans. The Journey

“I spent the weekend pushing my limits across brutal, breathtaking landscapes. The early miles were strong, even after sliding down an unhinged descent to Kroger’s. But the real battle began at nightfall out of Ouray. The heavy wildfire smoke finally settled in, and combined with the altitude, hit me hard by Oh Point. By Stony Pass Ridge, catching my breath became completely impossible. I made the safe, surreal decision to DNF at Cunningham Gulch (Mile 92.5).”

Still, there were magical moments, like hitting a summit at sunrise and sobbing at Grouse Gulch when my wife, Fiona, simply told me she was proud of me.

A Different Kind Of Finish Line While I’m just a recreational runner myself, my roles as a running coach and a father of three daughters mean I'm usually the one guiding others through adversity—but this race tested my own limits in entirely new ways. Even though I fell short of "kissing the rock" this year, it doesn't diminish an unforgettable experience. After years of waiting for this starting line, every mile was worth it.
