Think you know the KonMari Method? Let’s put that knowledge to the test. We’re clearing up a few common misconceptions about what the Method is (and what it isn’t).

Myth 1: KonMari is about getting rid of things. Not quite. The focus is on choosing what you want to keep and creating a life that feels right for you. As a KonMari Consultant, your role isn’t to convince someone to part with their belongings. It’s to help them make meaningful decisions about what belongs in their life.

Myth 2: KonMari means owning less. There’s no prescribed number of possessions. One person’s ideal lifestyle might look wonderfully minimal while another’s might include a house full of books, craft supplies or treasured collections. The destination is your client’s ideal lifestyle, not a set number of items.

Myth 3: You have to know what sparks joy immediately. Not necessarily. For many people, learning to recognize what sparks joy is part of the process. A consultant facilitates that discovery by using the KonMari Method rather than handing someone the answers.

So, what does a KonMari Consultant actually do? Help with all of the above and more! The goal is never perfection. It’s developing a way of living, choosing joy, and making decisions intentionally that can evolve with you and your clients.

Curious to see what’s involved and how it’s done? Two KonMari Consultant Courses are open for registration this November. Register today and start building your business in the new year.
