Tailgate Like A Pro

Football season is here, and the difference between a cooler in the back of a truck and an RV in the same parking spot is not small.

Same Lot, Better Setup

Four Reasons the RV Wins the Parking Lot

One rig turns a folding table and a cooler into an actual place to spend the day. It is the same parking spot, doing considerably more work:

A Real Kitchen

Fridge, freezer, stove, and oven. Nobody babysits a grill all morning, and the food that cannot be grilled finally makes the menu.

Your Own Bathroom

No line, no walk across the lot, no portable anything. This one alone converts people.

The Game Stays On

Most rigs have a TV or two, and some have one outside. Bring a generator or find a hookup and the party never stops to go find a screen.

Inside and Outside at Once

Cornhole and the grill out front, cushioned seating and heat in back. When the weather turns in the fourth quarter, you have somewhere to go.

Plan the Weekend

Getting the Spot Is the Hard Part

Game day parking is its own sport, and every school runs it differently. Four things to sort out before you commit to a Saturday:

Check Whether RVs Are Allowed

Some venues have dedicated RV lots, and some do not allow them at all. When they don't, there is almost always a lot or campground close enough to walk to or shuttle from.

Go East in October

Tailgating on the East Coast in the fall gets you the crisp weather and the color in the trees on top of the game. The drive there is half the reason to go.

Take the Bigger Rig

You are parking it, not touring in it, so the usual argument against a Class A or a fifth wheel does not really apply. Pick the floor plan with the most room.

Stay the Night After

The best part of bringing a rig is not driving home after the game. Sleep in the lot or at a campground nearby and leave Sunday morning.
