INSPIRED BY POOLS OF LIGHT

We were inspired by Victorian pools of light jewelry when we designed our Vision and Trance Lockets. This type of jewelry appeared in the late Victorian period and became especially popular during the Edwardian era. The originals were usually made from highly polished rock crystal quartz and the name came from their optical effect. The curved crystal refracts and concentrates the surrounding light so that it seems to glow from within. Our pieces are made from rock crystal but also other beautifully translucent, natural stones. They are functional lockets, made from two precisely cut halves of an egg-shaped stone, and they open like a tiny treasure, with just a sliver of room inside for a miniscule image, botanical, scrap of paper, or other keepsake.

SIZES

The locket comes in two sizes, the larger Vision, an elongated oval suspended from a 22 inch chain, and the petite Trance, a small talisman on a 20 inch chain. Both are offered in recycled 14k gold and recycled sterling silver, with a selection of natural stones.

MADE IN NEW YORK

Each locket is made entirely by hand in New York City by a family-run collective of local jewelers. The stones are ethically sourced, then individually cut and polished by a family-run New York lapidary.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Most of our jewelry can be customized with a stone of your choosing, making the locket an even more personal talisman. If there’s a particular stone, color, or symbolism that you’re looking for, reach out to us and we’re happy to accommodate.
