Oats seem to be having a bit of a moment right now, but for us, they’ve always been a staple in the Deliciously Ella kitchen. They’re at the heart of our oat bars, they make the most comforting breakfasts, and they’re such a simple way to add wholegrains and fibre to everyday recipes. And while porridge might be the first thing that comes to mind, there are so many ways we love cooking with them. So, here are three oat recipes we come back to again and again.

Creamy, cosy & delicious. Creamy Blueberry, Oat & Quinoa Porridge – We couldn’t talk about oats without starting with porridge. This one combines oats with quinoa for an extra wholegrain, then adds juicy blueberries for a breakfast that’s creamy, comforting and of course, a lovely source of fibre.

For when you want something fresh. Avocado, Date & Berry Smoothie – Oats are also one of our favourite additions to smoothies, helping to make them that little bit more satisfying. This one blends them with avocado, berries and dates for natural sweetness - perfect for mornings when you want something quick but filling.

Utterly gooey & delicious. Gooey Dark Chocolate & Cherry Cookies – Whenever we make these in the Deliciously Ella office, they disappear very quickly. Gooey in the middle, with rich dark chocolate and tart cherries, they’re such a delicious way to use oats beyond breakfast - and particularly good when that 3pm craving hits.
