Dear Yarbo Enthusiast, Hope this email finds you well. We wanted to take a moment to share the story behind Yarbo and the vision that drives us forward—using technology to make life easier and more enjoyable for everyone. We noticed a common challenge during the early years in North America—snow removal in winter. It was not only tedious but also dangerous, especially in extreme cold. The options available, from heavy manual tools to expensive and unreliable services, didn’t effectively solve the problem.

That’s when Yarbo was founded in 2015. Our mission was clear: to create an intelligent, modular yard robot that would transform yard care. Starting with snow removal, we envisioned a machine that could also handle mowing and leaf blowing, making it useful year-round. The journey wasn’t easy. For six years, we focused entirely on research and development, iterating through six generations of prototypes. With no revenue, no supply chain, and no blueprint to follow, we had to build everything from scratch. In 2021, we made a bold decision to overhaul our technical approach and redesign our product from the ground up to truly meet user needs. That’s when Snowbot was born—the world’s first intelligent snow removal robot for home use. It filled a gap in the market and quickly gained recognition.

A year later, we launched Yarbo, the world’s first modular yard robot capable of snow removal, mowing, and leaf blowing. It became the top-funded robotics project on Kickstarter in 2022, a moment of pride for our team. But behind the scenes, the work didn’t stop. We spend over five months each year testing Yarbo in real-life conditions across the U.S. and Canada to make sure it’s as reliable and stable as possible. In the early days, when we couldn’t afford to rent vehicles, we worked outside for hours in temperatures as low as -30°C to test and improve the product.

To make sure Yarbo was truly ready, we not only built our own factory but also brought the entire design and software team to a remote mountain cabin. There, we spent over a month working around the clock, addressing a variety of issues and fine-tuning the system before we felt confident enough to begin mass production and delivery. Those tough days shaped Yarbo into what it is today: a product we’re proud of, built to stand up to the harshest conditions. And the most rewarding part has been hearing from users who say Yarbo has changed their lives—giving them independence, more time with family, and relief from the hard work of yard maintenance.

We know that transitioning from R&D to production comes with its challenges. But our team is ready to face these head-on. We remain committed to innovation and building something that becomes part of Yarbo users’ family—a helper that brings joy, saves time, and supports a more relaxed and sustainable lifestyle. As we head into the new year, we deeply appreciate your support and look forward to continuing this journey with you. From all of us at Yarbo, we wish you and your family a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! Warm regards,
Team Yarbo
