Hi there,

Letting your child roam a little further is a big step, for them and for you. Safety Zones give you a calm way to take that step. Set up the places that matter, like home, school or the park, and the Xplora app tells you when your child arrives or leaves.

Here is how it works, step by step.

What is a Safety Zone?

A Safety Zone is a circle you draw on the map in the Xplora parent app. When your child's device moves in or out of that circle, a push notification lands on your phone. You choose the places and the size.

Setting up a Safety Zone in 4 steps

Step 1

Find your child on the map

Open the Xplora parent app and select your child's device. Tap the address showing their current location to open the map. The device needs some charge for this to appear.

Step 2

Open Safety Zones

Tap Safety Zones in the bottom menu, then choose Add new safety zone. You will see any zones you have already created.

Step 3

Pick the place and name it

Search for the address or drag the pin to place it where you want the zone to be. Give it a name you will recognise for notifications.

Step 4

Set the range and save

Choose a range from 300 metres up to 5,000 metres, then tap Save. That is it! From now on, you will be notified when your child arrives or leaves.

Good to know

Size: from 300 m to 5,000 m radius.

How many: as many zones as you like, but two zones cannot overlap.

Alerts: push notifications to your phone through the Xplora app.

Deleting: open Safety Zones, click on the zone and tap Delete.

Ideas for your first zones

Every family is different. Here are a few ways parents use them.

The school run. Draw a zone from home to school, so you know they got there safely.

The local park. Mark the area where you are happy for them to play with friends.

After school with friends. A zone shows them how far they can go.

Walking to clubs. Let them go on their own, if they are ready, and keep an eye on the app.

A helper, not a replacement. No technology is perfect. Xplora’s devices are a supplement to everyday life and never a substitute for an adult keeping an eye on things. Set your own limits and choose what suits your child and your family.

Peace of Mind with Safety Zones
